This Saturday 25th of February, Alexy Faure-Prost took the first victory in the history of Circus-ReUz-Technord in Villers-le-Temple, on the occasion of the Grand Prix Raygeo.
Under the direction of Kévin Van Melsen, the four youngest members of the team, Alessio Delle Vedove, Alexy Faure-Prost, Victor Hannes and Sacha Prestianni participated in their first race as U23 riders. 117 kilometer on a local circuit in the province of Liège had to be covered.
The youngest member of the team, Faure-Prost (18 year old), escaped from the first lap with two competitors. Only a couple of riders managed to catch the trio, but later all were left behind one by one by Faure-Prost who celebrated after a solo of 20 kilometer.
« After our second training camp with the team in Alicante, the team direction judged that is was interesting to unite the first year U23 riders for a weekend of racing in Belgium. The parcours suited me very well and I had a good feeling from the start, so I didn’t hesitate to show myself in the front on the difficult climb and even to follow the attacks. Thanks to our preparation, especially the training camp, I was well prepared to manage the intense efforts on the climbs and through the wind on the open roads. I benefited from the crosswind exercices we did. My first race with Circus-ReUz-Technord couldn’t end in a better way. I would like to continue like this and work hard towards the Ardennes classics in April and May. »
