"I can hardly realise what this French national title represents! I just finished the Tour de l'Ain with Intermarché-Circus-Wanty, which was an excellent preparation because at first I thought I would be tired but in the end the legs responded well to the difficulty of the parcours. From the start of the race, the intensity was really high, the speed over 50 kilometer per hour. I'm not used to this kind of starts but I managed to join the breakaway. At some point, the peloton was close to catching us, so I accelerated on the last climb of the circuit. We were only three guys left, with Axel Huens and Maximilien Juillard. I know these two riders well, one is my teammate in Circus-ReUz-Technord and the other one my training partner. I knew their qualities and we worked really well together. I chose to wait for the last lap to attack on the climb. I managed to hold on until the end, I'm so happy."
