« I am happy to have shown once again that I can compete with the fastest riders. This fifth place is a good result, even if I am convinced that the podium was within my reach if I had started the sprint in a better position. The turn with 3,5 kilometres to go was crucial and we were perfectly positioned as a team. After that it was very hectic and I tried to maintain a good position in the wheel of a competitor. In hindsight, Jasper Philipsen's slipstream would have been a better choice. This Sunday I will conclude my spring campaign with my first ever participation in Paris-Roubaix. I am very grateful to Intermarché-Circus-Wanty for the opportunity to participate in this cycling Monument. »
