Victory for Roel Van Sintmaartensdijk

The impressive season start of Circus-ReUz-Technord continued on 1st of May, with a new UCI success at the Tour de Bretagne

Dutchman Roel van Sintmaartensdijk concluded the Breton seven day race in the best way by winning the bunch sprint of the final stage in the streets of Châteaugiron and achieving his first UCI succes.

Circus-ReUz-Technord was active all week long and finished with four riders in the top fifteen of the final classification. Jelle Vermoote finished just next to the podium (4th), van Sintmaartensdijk was twelfth, Dylan Vandenstorme 13th and Axel Huens 14th.

In addition to his victory, van Sintmaartensdijk finished in the top ten of the first two stages which also finished in a bunch sprint. Frenchman Axel Huens animated the first stage by resisting for a long time ahead of the peloton, wearing the blue jersey of the intermediate sprint classification for one day.

« I'm so happy to take my first UCI win in this Tour de Bretagne! After two stages during which nearly the whole team crashed, this victory feels like a gift. Our main goal today was to protect the fourth place of Jelle Vermoote in the provisional general classification. Once he secured this, he did big pulls in the lead of the peloton to enable me to start the sprint in a perfect position. I'm pleased to finish off the work of my teammates. I hope to recover well in the next few days towards Paris-Roubaix, in which we want to battle for the victory again! »
