On Thursday, July 18, Louis Meintjes attacked for the fourth time in five days and continued his climb up the Tour de France overall classification, while green jersey Biniam Girmay retains his jersey with three days to go.
Present in the breakaway of thirty-six riders alongside Georg Zimmermann on this eighteenth stage between Gap and Barcelonnette, Louis Meintjes was able to claw back thirteen minutes and two places overall, moving up to twentieth place in the Tour de France.
In the green jersey rankings, there were no changes for Biniam Girmay, who didn’t have to contest the intermediate sprint, and retains his distinctive jersey with a 33-point lead.
