Biniam Girmay takes the green jersey to Nice

This Saturday, July 20th, surrounded by his teammates, Biniam Girmay crossed the finish line of the twentieth stage of the Tour de France, securing his victory in the points classification of the Tour.

This final road stage, considered the queen stage, promised a final battle in the Alps between the best climbers, with the Col de Braus, Col de Turini, Col de la Colmiane, and finally a summit finish at the Col de la Couillole on the itinerary.

South African Louis Meintjes finished this 130-kilometer stage, lasting over four hours, in twenty-fifth position. He will start the closing time trial in the streets of Nice this Sunday in nineteenth place overall.

Accompanied by his teammates in the sprint train until the finish, the green jersey holder Biniam Girmay is assured of winning the points classification, with a 33-point lead over his nearest rival.
