“I didn’t expect to perform so well at my return into competition, six weeks after breaking my wrist. Mentally it was a difficult period, filled with an intense training programme on the home trainer of my trainer Christophe Prémont, sometimes twice per day. But it worked. From the first day in this Tour d’Eure et Loir I was in the mix for the victory by being part of the right breakaways and following uphill. At the start this morning, this last stage made me think of the one I won in the Tour du Loir et Cher, with a hill before the final flatter kilometer. I managed again to produce a powerful sprint and win. This type of finishes suits me perfectly. I also finished close to the victory in the final classification. I the intermediate sprint I was boxed in and just missed the bonus seconds. It is of course a pity but I can be satisfied of my third victory of the season, a little unexpected, and the green jersey!”
