Georg Zimmermann, white jersey wearer at the start of the third stage in the Tour of Germany (2.Pro, 26-29/08) gained again important bonus seconds for the GC battle. Just like the day before, the 23 year old won the intermediate sprint in the final of the 194 kilometer stage. All day, four riders lead the race in the rain, before being caught by the peloton with 10 kilometer to go.
Zimmermann continued after the sprint and five riders followed, but only Politt and Teuns resisted to the peloton. Politt won the stage and became the new race leader. 12 seconds later, Jonas Koch sprinted to 11th place. At the eve of the final stage, Zimmermann is 7th and best young rider in the provisional classification, 19 seconds behind the leader. Jonas Koch is 12th.
