As tradition goes, an individual time trial around the town of Alès concluded the Etoile de Bessèges (2.1, 02-06/02) this Sunday. For the first time this season, the riders of Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux rode their CUBE Aerium C:68 TT in competition, on the 11-kilometre route that ended atop the Montée de l’Ermitage ( 2.6km at 5.8%). The man in sight this week in the Gard, Germany’s Georg Zimmermann, recorded the team’s best time at the finish in 16:34, just over a minute behind winner Filippo Ganna (INEOS ), double world champion in the discipline.
