Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux concluded the week of national championships with the best harvest in its history. After two time trial titles (Girmay, Taaramäe), a silver medal (Peák) and two bronze medals (Peák, van der Hoorn), the World Team was represented in the road race of eight different countries this Sunday.
Danish rider Julius Johansen was almost sure of winning a medal in the rain on the parcours around Aalborg, as he was leading the race with Alexander Kamp with 4 kilometer to go. But Johansen, who was the last survivor of an early breakaway of six riders, punctured and had to be satisfied with seventeenth place.
