The new Continental Development Team will be named Circus-ReUz-Technord

The new UCI Continental Development Team of Intermarché-Circus-Wanty directed by recently retired rider and new sports director Kévin Van Melsen will be launched on 1st of January 2023 under the name of Circus - Re-Uz - Technord.

Circus, Re-Uz and Technord, three Walloon companies with international recognition which are visible on the 2023 jersey of World Team Intermarché-Circus-Wanty, are the title partners of this team composed of young Walloon, Belgian and international talents.

Through its flagship brand Circus, Ardent Group reinforces its transversal support to the structure of Jean-François Bourlart by becoming the first title partner of the UCI Continental Development Team, in addition to its title partnership with the World Team and its investment in the development branch of the structure, the Ardent Cycling Academy.

Re-Uz, the expert in reusable cups and solutions based in Grâce-Hollogne, started the the collaboration with Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert at events of the World Team during season 2022 in order to reduce the environmental footprint of the organization. With its investment in Continuum Sports, Re-Uz steps in sports sponsoring for the first time, aiming to promote the zero waste movement by raising public awareness, particularly among young people, on the ecological impact of sports events.

Technord is a family company with branches in the entire world, specialized in the integration of electric industrial projects and historical partner of the structure of Jean-François Bourlart.

« I'm proud that our structure can revitalize our projects for the youth with this new UCI Continental Development Team, which makes me think of the first years of our history. It was from a local youth club, named VC Ath, that we built the structure we have today with a World Team and a cyclocross team. Kevin Van Melsen is with no doubt the best person to lead this project, because he rode for fourteen years for our team and is a family member of Yves Lessens, one of the pioneers of the VC Ath. » « With the creation of Circus-ReUz-Technord, our different historical partners receive new opportunities to grow their notoriety. I'm pleased that Circus and Technord, two Walloon companies with a passion for cycling and long interest in our structure, associate their name with our youth project. We also welcome Re-Uz in our family of partners, another company with Walloon roots and international scope. The important role played by Re-Uz from its first steps with our team is probably the start of a long and nice cooperation. It is with proudness and impatience that we're waiting to follow our young talents on the European roads in 2023! »

« Our group has always had at heart to contribute to the community and sports life of our country. It is with this mindset that we launched the Ardent Group Cycling Academy, in extension of our support to the World Team and as a complement to our commitment to sport. The education, the talent detection and the creation of an expertise and cycling skills centre are an integral part of the philosophy of our group. We implement it in our own companies with which we achieve a remarkable international growth. So we were naturally convinced about the importance to trace this principle to the world of sports and to cycling in this case, with the goal of enabling the youth to find an open door and to break through on a professional level in cycling and at the same time also of showing our region and our country on the international scene. » « In parallel to this, it is a real pride to be able to confirm today our confidence towards the World Team by returning as the second sponsor in 2023. Indeed, next to the fifth place in the world ranking, it seemed essential to support this team as it is a true Belgian and Walloon showcase in an international landscape. »

« Accompanying the youth with their sportive trajectory is something we care about. It is of great importance to provide resources to our future champions. Sports is something we encourage on a daily base within our group. Our initiative as part of Circus-ReUz-Technord also aims to sensitize people, especially young people, for the ecological impact of sports events and our daily habits. The age category from 18 to 23 is an important target group in our goal of producing less and reusing more. Raising awareness with sports sponsoring is a new step for us and we're pleased to start this challenge with the structure of Intermarché-Circus-Wanty. Together we share the ambition of propel our organisations, with Walloon anchoring, on the international scene! »

« We're very happy to reinforce our long term partnership with the World Team but also to launch this new Development Team. Encouraging a Walloon structure and making young people living their passion grow are important values for us. Staying involved in this project of the team alongside other partners who share our values is also very important for us. We hope that this Development Team will do as good as the World Team and will quickly build a solid reputation. »
