« I felt that my form was improving during the Tour de France. So after my third place on the Champs-Elysées, I was very motivated to ride a series of Belgian classics, which resulted in a third place in Leuven and a victory in the Franco-Belge a few days later. It was special to win on such a tough course. I really had to dig deep to neutralize the attacks of my three breakaway companions and beat them in the sprint. I remember this day on the bike for a long time, also because of the joy from all the supporters and people involved with the team at the finish. »
