« The hilly course around Marburg was so difficult that it was possible to get rid of most of the sprinters. I was dropped several times and each time, Sven Erik Bystrøm brought me back to the bunch. I again lost contact in the final kilometers and I communicated to my teammates that they didn’t have to count on me for the sprint. But I didn’t give up and as a miracle, Sven and I managed to return in the approach to the red flag. I immediately went to the slipstream of Barnabás Peák, who did a perfect lead out towards the victory. Behind each victory, there’s a story making it special. And behind each victory, there’s a team without which it is impossible to win at this level.
