The final week of the Tour of Spain started with an opportunity for sprinters, which finally turned out in an animated ending in the final kilometers. As the peloton was preparing for the final, Primoz Roglic accelerated with more than 3 kilometer to go to the finish in Tomares (Sevilla) on a non categorized climb.
Louis Meintjes was focused and preceded the time gaps following the acceleration. He finished in the same time as his teammate Jan Bakelants, who finished fourteenth 8 seconds behind a quartet of sprinters. After this sixteenth stage, Meintjes keeps his eleventh position in the provisional classification. Rein Taaramäe makes his entry in the top twenty.
