CUBE BIKES
CUBE is a German bicycle manufacturer headquartered in Waldershof. The company was founded in 1993 by former student Marcus Pürner, who started producing bicycles in his father’s furniture factory. Currently more than 850 people work for Cube, you can buy their bicycles in 68 different countries. Their wide range consists of different types of mountainbikes, road bikes, time trial bikes, electric bikes and gravel bikes. They also produce custom women’s models, children’s bicycles, clothing and accessories. Since 2014 they provide us with the very best from their range. Not only do we race all around the world on their road bikes, the Tormans CX Team also crosses around on their cyclocross bikes.
Before the start of the 2021 season, our team and CUBE announced the extension of our collaboration. Both partners are pleased to emphasize their intention to follow the same path and take the collaboration to the new WorldTour level. The Bavarian bicycle manufacturer attaches great importance to establishing long-term relationships with their athletes.
LITENING C:68
The Cube Litening C:68X is the archetype of the modern racing bike. With its aerodynamic lines and excellent stiffness/comfort ratio, it can handle the longest and most demanding races. The dynamic properties of the bicycle are obtained through the use of an exclusive composite material, being the C: 68X. This is a type of carbon that uses six different types of fibres, whose orientation has been modulated to adapt to mechanical stresses. The percentage of fiber reaches 68%, hence the name.
The Litening is also ultramodern due to the technical choices that Cube has made. For starters, it offers full cable integration, making the bike look super sleek. Then it gives prominence to electronic transmissions, combining integration and control precision. The frame is also built for hydraulic disc brakes, which can do their job perfectly in all conditions.
Finally, the Litening C:68X gets specific Cube peripherals: the seatpost and stem combination contribute to the aerodynamics and design of the whole, without sacrificing stiffness and comfort, on the contrary.
It is on this enormously modern and efficient chassis that the Intermarché Wanty Gobert team has built its engine for 2021. Not without first matching it to its colours, with the team’s signature yellow. Shimano supplied the complete Dura-Ace Di2 11-speed groupset.
