For the very first time, a rider of Intermarché-Circus-Wanty climbed on the podium of the Belgian national time trial championships. Rune Herregodts covered the 41.6 kilometer around Herzele in 52 minutes and 58 seconds or the third time.
The 24 year old rider added a new reference performance in the time trial discipline this season after his remarkable top ten in the Critérium du Dauphiné.
Aimé De Gendt took eighth place, achieving the best result of his career in the event against the clock. His younger teammate Tom Paquot participated for the first time in the elite category and finished with the fifteenth best time.
